Welcome Adriane!

Adriane bio photoThe Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi has hired its first Maui Group Coordinator!  Adriane Raff Corwin joins the Sierra Club with more than ten years of experience advocating for environmental justice. Her main interest has been in local water rights and to ensure our environment is safe and protected for generations to come. She has volunteered and worked with the International Campaign for Justice in Bhopal (ICJB) where her duties included strategizing and leading campaigns, mentoring members, and acting as media spokesperson. She has trained with many well-known activist groups, including Wellstone Action, the Ruckus Society, and the Yes Men.Adriane received her Master’s Degree in Political Science and Futures Studies from the University of Hawaiʻi at Manoa, where she focused on the detrimental impact of policy making that fails to plan for the long-term future. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Human Rights studies from Bard College.In addition to her passion for community organizing, Adriane loves hiking, snorkeling, and underwater photography. We are so excited to have her join our team!
