How to vote in the general election

The 2020 General Election is here! Ballots have arrived super early to make sure there is enough time for them to be counted, so we want to make sure you are ready to vote for the planet! Here are some tips and additional info to help you vote correctly:

Fill out your ballot correctly

  • Color in the blocks all the way. The computer that reads the ballots needs it to be completely darkened to read it.

  • Once you’ve voted, fold your ballot and place it in the ballot secrecy sleeve. Then place it in your return envelope. Make sure you sign the return envelope for your ballot to be counted.

  • Mail your ballot by at least October 27. Mailing your ballot as early as possible will ensure it makes it on time to be counted.

  • If you run out of time to mail it, you can drop it off at a deposit center—centers can be found here.

If you are registered, you should have received your ballot!

Call your County Clerk’s office if you have not received your ballot, they will send you a replacement:

County of Hawaiʻi: 961-8277
County of Maui: 270-7749
City & County of Honolulu: 768-3800
County of Kauaʻi: 241-4800

First, double check your voter registration status (maybe you are registered and you’ve forgotten…)
