Hello native plants, goodbye invasive species! Free native plant giveaway

We love native plants. We dislike invasive species.

We are looking forward to getting more native plants in more homes this year, while helping curb the spread of invasive pests like little fire ants!

Please join us for our first native plant giveaway of 2024 on Saturday, January 20, 9am at Blanche Pope Elementary School in Waimānalo.

We will have a variety of native plants well suited for the windward side, as well as species that will thrive in pots for small spaces. Our super volunteer tree experts will be on hand to help you pick the right plant for you! Plants will be first come, first served while supplies last, one plant per person. Bonus: Everyone that comes to pick up a plant will be entered to win Patagonia and Sierra Club gear!

The Oʻahu Invasive Species Committee will be joining us to pass out Little fire ant (LFA) testing kits and additional information on LFA and other invasive species. All plants for distribution will be tested for LFA prior to the event. Learn more about our recent work to help curb the spread of invasive species, and how you can help, here.

When: Saturday, January 20, 9am (or until we run out of trees). Add it to your calendar using this link!

Where: Blanche Pope Elementary, 41-133 Huli St, Waimānalo, HI 96795
