Wayne’s Sierra Club World: Check out our new strategic plan

by Wayne Tanaka, Chapter Director | Reading time: 1 minute

Thank you very much to all who shared with us your thoughts on the Sierra Club of Hawai‘i’s strengths, opportunities, and challenges, as well as your visions for the future of the Chapter.

With your input in hand, Sierra Club of Hawai‘i staff, Chapter executive committee members, group representatives, and Huliau Aloha consultant Andrea Machado-Dias engaged in a strategic planning process to develop a strategic framework for the next three years.

Feel free to read the framework here: Collective Pathways to ʻĀina Justice: Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi Strategic Framework 2023-2026.

In the coming months, staff, Chapter and group executive committee members, and volunteer leaders will continue to build on this framework, and develop strategic priorities and actions to realize its goals.

Special thanks to Executive Committee Chair Kauʻi Pratt-Aquino for her work spearheading this process, to Sierra Club National’s Office of Chapter Support for providing the “Chapter Strong” grant funding that made this opportunity possible, and to all of our members, staff, and volunteers who participated in this process. And a huge mahalo nui to Andrea Dias-Machado, who was able to facilitate and then synthesize hours of robust discussion to develop this important visionary document for the next three years!

Aloha,
Wayne
