Celebrate our wai on April 6!

by Wayne Tanaka, Chapter Director | Reading time: 1 minute

Teachers, students, and parents are invited to celebrate 2024 UNESCO World Water Day and Earth Day with an Ola i ka Wai Event, on April 6, 2024, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., featuring educational booths, crafts, and hands-on activities on the lawn of the Waikīkī-Kapahulu Public Library (400 Kapahulu Ave, Honolulu, Hawaiʻi 96815).

The Honolulu Board of Water Supply, Hawaiʻi Youth Climate Coalition, Genki Ala Wai Project, Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi, and other organizations are all coming together to help our keiki learn about our water resources, create water-themed art, and make and toss Genki balls to help clean the Ala Wai canal, among other activities.

This event will be *free* and open to the first 200 students who register - be sure to sign up today, before it is too late: https://forms.gle/syfUuEgJ6LeuUo1u6.

Our water holds the key to the future of our islands and future generations - so let’s celebrate and learn how to protect our islands’ - and planet’s - most precious resource.

Mahalo NUI to the event organizers, including some of the same folks who brought you the wildly successful Walk for Water to Shut Down Red Hill!
