Register now for the Walk for Water to Shut Down Red Hill
For kūpuna to keiki to all living things on earth, clean water is life. The contamination of our sole-source aquifer with jet fuel is life-threatening not only for those of us here now, but for generations to come.
To demonstrate the importance of our living wai, and the commitment across generations to protect it, a committee of kūpuna volunteers from the Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi, in partnership with the Hawaiʻi Workers Center, Hawaiʻi Peoples Fund, and the Hawaiʻi Youth Climate Coalition, have organized the Walk for Water to Shut Down Red Hill as a benefit to support our organization.
Join the Walk for Water to Shut Down Red Hill on Sunday, April 23 starting at 8am at Ala Moana Regional Park and Magic Island.
Keiki to kūpuna are invited to walk together with fellow water drinkers, rain or shine, beginning on Magic Island, walking around the regional park, and ending back on Magic Island, roughly 3.1 miles. Additional details here.
Registration is $40 for adults (18+), $20 for students (6 yo-graduate students), children 5 and under are free! You can also sign up at the group rate with a minimum of 10 people at $20/person with any combination of adults and students. The deadline to register and receive a t-shirt has passed but all registrants will still receive a “Can our tears clean the aquifer?” poster. Registration fees are non-refundable and will support the Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi’s on-going work to shut down the Red Hill fuel tanks.

Mahalo nui for your unwavering support to see that the Navy’s Red Hill fuel tanks are shut down once and for all. A united community can hold the Navy accountable, and will increase the momentum to save our water, for all of us, from kūpuna to keiki, and for all generations that follow. See you at Ala Moana Regional Park on April 23!
