Sierra Club Native Plant Giveaway
Saturday, January 17
9am until we run out of plants
KEY Project, 47-200 Waiheʻe Rd, Kāneʻohe
Free and open to all—no matter how green your thumb is
Plants will be available first come, first served, with a two-plant limit per household. We’ll have a variety of native plants suited for the windward side, including options that thrive in pots for small spaces. Our amazing volunteer plant experts will be on hand to help you pick the right plant for your home or garden.
Each participant will receive a booklet with planting tips, care guidance, and species information. Bonus: Everyone who picks up plants will be entered to win Patagonia and Sierra Club gear!
The Oʻahu Invasive Species Committee will be on-site to distribute little fire ant detection kits and answer questions you may have about little fire ants, coconut rhinoceros beetles, and other invasive species affecting our communities. All plants will be tested for little fire ants prior to the event. KEY Project will also be there to talk story about their work combating invasive pests and how you can get involved.
This giveaway is made possible with support from the Koʻolau Pilina Fund and is part of our Virtual Tree Planting Program, which has distributed over 1,700 plants to date. We're proud to continue this work—and hope you’ll be a part of it too.
Mark your calendars, bring your friends, and don’t miss out on this special opportunity to plant something meaningful. See you on January 17!
