Protecting aquifer a high priority, Honolulu residents say

TL;DR - Honolulu residents place a high priority on protecting drinking water aquifers from pollution, according to the results of an annual survey conducted by the city.

When asked how important it is to protect aquifers by establishing programs, rules and directives to regulate contamination, 79% said it was “essential” and 18% said “very important.”

The question was given the highest level of importance among the 31 custom questions asked of residents in the 2022 Honolulu Community Livability Report by the Office of the City Auditor, which was released last week.
