Navy Confirms Petroleum Product in Red Hill Drinking Water Well
TL;DR - U.S. Navy officials confirm that petroleum products were detected in the Red Hill Drinking water well. A sample was taken on Sunday found trace amounts of very volatile hydrocarbons found in jet fuel or diesel fuel. A sample taken on Thursday found clear indications of petroleum products just above the water line. It is still unclear where the petroleum contamination originated and how much contamination there is. The Navy stopped pumping from its Red Hill well on Sunday.
