It’s finally fall! Not only is it the perfect time to cozy up & enjoy the cooler weather, it’s also the ideal time to plant native trees & plants.

Although we have put our Mālama Tree Crew on hold due to COVID-19, we are excited to get back to our roots 😉 by introducing the new:

Virtual Tree Planting Program (VTPP)!

While the Mālama Tree Crew took people into the field to plant trees, VTPP allows you to plant trees from the comfort of your own home.

We will be hosting a drive-thru tree pick up with Native Hawaiian trees for you to plant and care for in your own yard. We will also have a variety of plants available that will thrive in any area, even if you don’t have a yard.

Please note: the VTPP is currently only operating on Oʻahu, but we hope to expand to the other islands soon!

How VTPP works:

  • Sign up for free using this Google Form.

  • Join local plant experts and long-time Sierra Club leaders Randy Ching and Ed Mersino on a Zoom call one week before the drive-thru pick up (tentatively planned for mid-November).

  • Come to one of our pick-up spots (more information to come) throughout Oʻahu.

  • Keep in touch! Join us for follow-up educational Zoom classes, share photos of your successes, and reach out if you have any questions.

Not sure which tree is best for your space, or how to care for it?

We’ve got you covered - our local plant experts Randy and Ed are here to answer all your questions. On your Zoom call, they will help you pick the best tree and teach you how to care for it. They’ll make sure you know how to help your tree thrive - everything from picking the perfect spot to dealing with pests! 🐌 🪲 🦗

We are ready to get outside and plant some trees, and we hope you’ll join us!

Sign up, and we’ll reach out with more info and details soon.
