Manoa Falls Trail project

This project is a collaboration between the State of Hawaii Department of Land and Natural Resources (DLNR) and the Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi - Oʻahu Group.  The Mānoa Falls Trail is one of the most highly used trails on Oʻahu, averaging about 300 visitors per day (up to 800 per day on holiday weekends).  This trail has greatly deteriorated in some areas from high traffic and water damage.  For this project, we will be working to help restore Mānoa Falls Trail to make it safer, easier to hike and minimize soil erosion and runoff into Mānoa Stream. We have set up two work days a month from July through October.  The work days are:Saturday, July 11th - Randy Ching - 808-942-0145 makikirandy@yahoo.comSunday, July 19th - Ed Mersino - 808-455-8193 mersino@hawaii.eduSaturday, August 9th - Ed Mersino - 808-455-8193 mersino@hawaii.eduSunday, August 22nd - Randy Ching - 808-942-0145 makikirandy@yahoo.comSunday, September 6th - Randy Ching - 808-942-0145 makikirandy@yahoo.comSaturday, September 19th - Randy Ching - 808-942-0145 makikirandy@yahoo.comSaturday, October 3rd - Reese Liggett - 808-544-9553 rliggett[at]hawaiiantel.netSunday, October 18th - Reese Ligget - 808-544-9553 rliggett[at]hawaiiantel.netVolunteers will meet at 8:30am at the Mānoa Falls Trail parking lot at the end of Mānoa Road.  Project will end for the day at 2pm.  Volunteers will need to bring plenty of water, lunch and gloves.  Tools will be provided. To sign up for a work day, please contact the project leader of the work day you would like to join.  Space is limited to 20 volunteers per work day.See flyer
