Your Vote Matters: Participate in Hawaiʻi's Primary Election
Hawaiʻi’s primary election is quickly approaching on Saturday, August 10. Make sure that you and everyone you know are prepared to vote!
Voting in the primary election is crucial because it determines which candidates will move forward to the general election in November. Your vote can influence key issues such as education, healthcare, housing, and environmental protection. By participating, you ensure that the leaders who are elected will best represent the diverse voices and interests of our communities.
Below you will find key dates and information on the upcoming primary election:
Mail ballots have arrived! If you are registered to vote and have not yet received your ballot, you can track it here. All registered voters receive a mail ballot. If you need a replacement ballot, you can find information on how to request one here.
Voting service centers open on Monday, July 29 and will remain open through Saturday, August 10. Find voting service center locations here.
July 31 is the last day to register to vote by paper application. After July 31, residents can register to vote online here or at their voting service center.
August 3 is the last day for registered voters away from their Hawaiʻi residence to request an absentee ballot.
August 10 is the Primary Election! All mail ballots should be received by 7pm HST; if you were unable to mail your ballot you can drop it off at a voting service center or ballot drop box, you can find locations here. You can also register to vote and vote at the same time, in-person, at voter service centers.
