How to update your Sierra Club email preferences
Getting too many emails? Not getting email updates on the issues you care about most? We hear you and we want to help make sure your email contact preferences are up to date and accurate so that you get all the email updates you’d like.
Here are a few simple steps to make sure your contact preferences are to your liking:
Scroll to the bottom of an email you received from the Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi, and you will see a link to “manage your preferences”:
Once you click this link, you will see this screen:
There are a lot of preferences to wade through, so here's more info to help:
General Preferences:
My Chapter: Keep this checked if you want to receive local emails - this includes Hawaiʻi Chapter updates, Group updates, action alerts, and fundraising emails.
Unchecking this box means you will not receive most of the Hawaiʻi Chapter and its groups emails.
Manage Your Membership: Membership related emails from Sierra Club National, including deals and renewal notices (for active members)
Support Sierra Club: Sierra Club National membership and fundraising emails
Actions: Action alerts for Sierra Club National campaigns (such as Beyond Coal or Ready for 100)
Politics: Elections and endorsements at the federal level (not including Executive Committee Elections)
Mission-Aligned Partners: Sierra Club National’s Live Well, Do Good newsletter plus partner organization’s offers and discounts
AddUp Campaigns: Alerts from Sierra Club National on campaigns that need your support (check out AddUp here)
Climate Parents: Sierra Club National campaign mobilizing parents, grandparents, and families for clean energy and climate solutions
The Insider: Sierra Club National’s flagship email with news, green tips, action alerts, outdoor trips, and more.
Subscriptions:
Weekly or daily highlights from Sierra Club National news outlets and Spanish language updates
Campaign and Program Subscriptions:
Sierra Club National Environmental Law Program or Drive Electric Campaign updates
Local Subscriptions:
The Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi has different email lists to make sure that you only receive news about the causes you care about most.
The list you see in your subscriptions may not be exhaustive for the Hawaiʻi Chapter. Be sure to click “see all local subscriptions” below your list and scroll to find Hawaiʻi Chapter (pro tip: hit ctrl+F on a PC or command+F on a Mac, and search “Hawaii” to find the Hawaii Chapter’s lists). If you no longer want to receive emails from the Sierra Club entirely, you can check the “unsubscribe me from all Sierra Club emails” box. Please keep in mind that if you unsubscribe, you will not receive national OR local emails (regardless of whether the email was sent from Sierra Club National, the Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi or its groups).
