Help Shape Our Work in 2026: Join a Sierra Club Committee
We know 2026 will be a pivotal year to advance climate solutions, act for justice, get outdoors, and protect Hawaiʻi’s natural resources — with so much meaningful work ahead of us together. Our staff and volunteers are hearing clearly that people want to engage, build community power, and make a positive impact that aligns with their values during this critical moment.
To that end, the Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi is looking to grow our volunteer-led and volunteer-informed committees, and we need your energy, passion, and ideas! Below is a bit about each committee where you can help — and a short interest form to fill out so we can connect you with the right opportunities:
Conservation Committee 🌿 - This team focuses on protecting Hawaiʻi’s natural environment and public health through advocacy, campaigns, policy work, and community education that advance strong environmental protections and climate-smart solutions.
Outings Committee 🥾 - Sierra Club of Hawaiʻi’s outings program connects people to the ʻāina through hikes, service projects, and outdoor experiences across the islands. The Outings Committee helps organize, plan, and support these activities that both inspire stewardship and build community outdoors.
Fundraising Committee 💡 - This committee supports the Chapter’s work by coordinating creative fundraising efforts, building donor relationships, and ensuring we have the resources to power our advocacy, programs, and community events.
If you’re interested in contributing your time, skills, and passion to one or more of these committees, please fill out this interest form with which committee(s) you’re interested in and any relevant experience.
Whether you’re a longtime member or newly inspired to volunteer, your involvement matters — and we’d love to work with you to make 2026 a year of action, connection, and impact.
